Team Roping
What to Expect
Team roping is for horses either getting started in team roping or needing to improve their current performance. Whether never experiencing cattle work, needing to improve on current performance, or simply looking to improve performance we work to aid the horse to the best of its capabilities. Team roping is for horses previously trained beyond a colt starting and tune-up level with no current buck, kick, or other dangerous behavior (ask us about our behavioral concern training options if needed). Team roping is offered on-site on a full-time or part-time basis based on the needs of the horse and owner. During our team roping training, several topics will be worked on such as:
-
Introduction of cattle
-
Box work
-
Dally & draw
-
Reading cows
-
Barriers
-
Cues

If a horse is removed from training prior to completion of the cutting program, Arizona Performance Horses offers no guarantee of the accomplishment of training and outcomes.

While we offer no guarantee of a timeline for a horse to complete the team roping program, on average we expect to complete barrel racing training between 60-90 days. If a longer time is needed, the Arizona Performance Horses trainer will discuss other needed training options with the owner. If something on the possible exposure option is highly important or other desired goals, please discuss it further with Arizona Performance Horses trainers to ensure as much exposure as possible.
Team roping is offered on-site on a full-time or part-time basis based on the needs of the horse and owner/ rider. It is also highly recommended the rider take lessons with the Arizona Performance Horse trainer to ensure proper knowledge of skills worked on with the horse. Arizona Performance Horses also offers roping lessons for the rider/owner.
